Currently, Chunk Anchors operate on a single-use purchase model. Once their duration expires, they stop functioning, requiring players to repurchase the entire item at full price to continue loading chunks. Keeping a single 5-day Large Chunk Anchor powered over a month totals roughly 18,000 Coins—a figure that scales exponentially over longer periods or for setups requiring multiple anchors. Reframing Chunk Anchors as permanent items with a recharge system would make them a far more accessible feature for the playerbase, elevating their value as a core progression tool while maintaining a balanced economy.
I propose a rework: turn Chunk Anchors into permanent, reusable items that require a proportional Coin-based recharge once their timer expires.
How the System Works
Initial Purchase: A player purchases the Chunk Anchor at its standard store price as a permanent base item.
Expiration & Inactive State: When the timer runs out, the Chunk Anchor enters an Inactive State and ceases to load chunks until it is reactivated.
Recharge Mechanic: Interacting with an inactive anchor opens a GUI offering a Coin recharge set at a fraction (~20%–25%) of the base purchase price.
Suggested Recharge Rates:
• Small (1 Chunk) | 24 Hours: 250 Coins -> Recharge: 50 Coins
• Small (1 Chunk) | 3 Days: 650 Coins -> Recharge: 130 Coins
• Small (1 Chunk) | 5 Days: 1,000 Coins -> Recharge: 200 Coins
• Small (1 Chunk) | 14 Days: 2,250 Coins -> Recharge: 450 Coins
• Large (3x3 Chunks) | 24 Hours: 750 Coins -> Recharge: 150 Coins
• Large (3x3 Chunks) | 3 Days: 1,950 Coins -> Recharge: 390 Coins
• Large (3x3 Chunks) | 5 Days: 3,000 Coins -> Recharge: 600 Coins
Why This Benefits the Server & Community:
Wider Adoption & Utility: Players across all stages of gameplay will find Chunk Anchors much more appealing to invest in, knowing the item remains part of their long-term inventory.
Boosted Community Engagement: Having a predictable maintenance cost gives both casual and competitive players a clear goal to vote, participate in events, and earn Coins regularly to keep their bases running smoothly.
Sustained Store & Economy Balance: Real-money store sales remain protected. Players managing larger bases or holding multiple anchors will still rely on Coin purchases from the store to cover their upkeep, while maintaining a healthy recurring sink for in-game currency.
Positive Player Experience: Replacing a full repurchasing model with a maintenance system turns chunk loading into a rewarding progression mechanic rather than a temporary expense.
