CHUNK ANCHORS

Minecraft stops running the parts of the world nobody is standing in. Your farm is not paused politely — it simply stops existing until someone walks back. A Chunk Anchor keeps your ground loaded so the farm carries on without you. Buy it with Coins in /coinshop.

The two sizes

  • A Small Chunk Anchor keeps 1 chunk loaded. Enough for one tidy setup.
  • A Large Chunk Anchor keeps 9 chunks loaded, a 3x3 block of chunks around itself. Enough for a real farm and its storage.

Both are placed like a beacon and show a floating countdown telling you how long they have left.

They run out

An anchor is bought with time on it, not forever. Small anchors come with 1, 3, 5, 7 or 14 days. Large anchors come with 1, 3 or 5 days.

The longer durations are better value per day, so if you already know the farm is staying put, buy the long one.

What an anchor will and will not do

  • Minions keep working. A minion carries on while you are offline for as long as its chunk stays loaded, so an anchor is what turns a minion into an overnight worker. This is the main reason to buy one.
  • Furnaces, crops and redstone keep running. Anything that ticks with the chunk carries on, and Collectors keep gathering what lands nearby.
  • Spawners do NOT keep spawning. A spawner only runs when a player is stood near it — within 16 blocks for a physical spawner, 50 blocks for a virtual one. That is a Minecraft rule an anchor cannot change. Keeping the chunk loaded is not enough on its own.

The trick: bank the mobs, then let minions do the work

A spawner needs you stood there — but the mobs it has already made do not go anywhere. That is the opening, and it is the best use of an anchor on the server:

  1. Stand at your farm and let the spawners run until a big stack of mobs has built up. This is the only part that needs you present.
  2. Place a Chunk Anchor so the ground stays loaded once you leave.
  3. Add one or more Slayer Minions next to the stack. More minions means the pile comes down faster.
  4. Log off. The minions keep killing while you are away, working through the mobs you banked.

The kills are credited to you, not to the minion, so the drops and the loot are yours exactly as if you had swung the sword.

Two things worth knowing before you build it:

  • A Slayer Minion kills within a 3×3×3 area at level 1, so put it where the mobs actually are. Upgrades widen that.
  • Big stacks are the ones that survive. A stack of 100 or more is pinned by the server and will not vanish while you are gone — smaller piles can despawn once nobody is nearby, so bank a proper one.

That distinction is the single most common misunderstanding about anchors, and it is worth knowing before you spend Coins. Anchors are for minions, furnaces, crops and collectors. Spawners need you stood next to them, anchor or no anchor — so if a mob farm is what you are building, an anchor will not run it while you sleep.
