MINIONS

Minions are little workers you place down. They do one job over and over and drop what they produce into a chest you link to them. Buy it with Coins in /coinshop.

The eight minions

  • Miner breaks the blocks in front of it. Point it at a wall of stone or an ore vein.
  • Slayer kills mobs around it. This is the one that turns a mob farm into money, and its kills count as yours, so your job payouts and statistics still credit you.
  • Farmer harvests and replants crops in its area.
  • Lumberjack chops trees. It is smart enough to follow a trunk upward.
  • Fisher fishes. Slower money than the others, but it needs nothing but water.
  • Collector picks up loose items around it and puts them in the chest.
  • Feeder feeds your other minions from a chest so you do not have to. See feeding below.
  • Seller sells the contents of the chest for you, so a farm can run without you emptying it.

Feeding

A minion runs on food. Every minion holds about an hour of work when full.

  • A golden apple is worth 2 minutes.
  • An enchanted golden apple is worth 20 minutes, so three of them fill a minion from empty.
  • Right-click the minion holding food to feed it by hand.
  • Or place a Feeder minion next to your others. It feeds every minion in range straight from a chest, which is the difference between a farm you tend and a farm that tends itself.

A Feeder runs slightly longer than the rest on a full tank, so it will not usually be the first thing to go hungry.

Linking a chest

  • The chest must be within 5 blocks of the minion.
  • If the chest fills up, the minion drops its work on the floor rather than deleting it. A Collector underneath will catch it.
  • Shift and left-click a minion to pick it back up.

Upgrades

Every minion has three levels. The prices are the same for all of them: $50,000,000 to reach level 2, and $75,000,000 to reach level 3.

What the levels buy depends on the minion:

  • Slayer goes from 3x3x3 to 5x5x5 to 7x7x7, and picks up Looting I, then II, then III. More area and more loot per kill at once, which is why it is usually the first minion anyone upgrades.
  • Miner goes from breaking 1 block to 3, and from level 2 it smelts ores automatically, so you skip the furnace entirely.
  • Farmer goes from 3x3x3 to 5x5x5 to 8x8x8.
  • Lumberjack goes from 3x5x3 to 4x7x4 to 6x10x6, so it reaches the top of taller trees.
  • Collector goes from 3x3x3 to 4x4x4 to 6x6x6.
  • Feeder goes from 3x3x3 to 5x5x5 to 8x8x8, so one Feeder can keep a much bigger farm fed.
  • Fisher catches more often at each level.
  • Seller is the one to think hardest about: it sells at 1x, then 1.25x, then 1.5x. On a farm that sells millions, that last upgrade pays for itself and then keeps paying.

The honest advice: upgrade the Seller and the Slayer first. Everything else raises how much you gather, but those two raise what the gathering is worth.

Limits and rules

  • You may place 10 minions.
  • At most 16 minions in one chunk.
  • Minions only work while you are online. Minions stop when you log off. A Chunk Anchor keeps spawners and collectors running while you are away, but it will not run your minions.
  • Minions do not work in the End.
  • They will not break bedrock, chests, spawners, shulker boxes or dragon eggs, and will not attack players, villagers, the Ender Dragon or the Wither.
